Footage from Michael Winterbottom's Amanda Knox-inspired movie Face of An Angel has premiered on Variety's website. A fictionalisation of the much-publicised murder investigation and subsequent sentences, Winterbottom's movie stars the underrated Daniel Bruhl, the overrated Kate Beckinsale and the frankly untested Cara Delevingne.

Based on the book Angel Face: Sex, Murder and the Inside Story of Amanda Knox by journalist by Barbie Latza Nadeau, Winterbottom's movie follows a filmmaker (Bruhl) who travels to Italy to research a film adaptation of the book with its author (Beckinsale).

He becomes embroiled in the sensational case and strikes up a relationship with a British student named Melanie, played by model Delevingne.

The teaser trailer plays out like a B-movie. "Of course she's innocent!" says some woman, who thinks she's innocent. "She had sex with this random guy in Italy that she met on a train!" says some man, who thinks she's guilty. "Two very different girls.one of is very quiet, the other....sexually dominating!" says another man, who, well you get the picture.

The movie is yet to get a release date but is currently being shopped about the movie market in Berlin. It shouldn't take long to find a distributor, given the recent conviction (again) of Amanda Knox and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito. Knox remains in the U.S and refuses to return to Italy.

Michael Winterbottom is also set to release his sequel to Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon's foodie tour, The Trip.
