First Lady Michelle Obama will be giving the presidential seal of approval to ABC’s hit country music drama ‘Nashville’ by making a guest appearance on the show next month.

Mrs Obama will be cameoing as herself in an episode entitled ‘All Or Nothing With Me’, which will air on May 7th. In the episode, reigning country queen Rayna James, played by Connie Britton, finds out that up and coming star Luke Wheeler has been injured in Afghanistan. James then quickly goes about setting up a charity concert where she enlists the First Lady to help. Also guest starring in the episode is former American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler, who will also play herself.

This will be Michelle’s second TV guest appearance this year. In February she filmed a cameo for NBC’s ‘Parks and Recreation’ season finale which will air in the US this Thursday. Her scenes for the episode entitled, ‘Moving Up’, were filmed in late February when the First Lady visited Miami. Mrs Obama had been in Miami celebrating her ‘Let’s Move’ initiative which is dedicated to tackling childhood obesity.

The critically acclaimed Nashville is currently gearing up towards its season 2 finale. ‘All Or Nothing With Me’, featuring Michelle Obama, will air on May 7th, with the finale taking place a week later. Nashville also stars Hayden Panettiere. as rising country star Juliette Barnes alongside Claire Bowen and Eric Close. Main stars Briton and Panettiere have both received Golden Globe nominations for their work on the series which premiered in 2012.
