Keith RichardsKeith Richards has said drugs never did anything for his creativity.

On Wednesday (July 8th), The Guardian reported that the poster, featuring the band’s iconic ‘lips and tongue’ logo over the crotch area of a scantily clad woman, had been rejected by regulators in charge of advertising standards. Keith Richards Mick Jagger Rolling Stones

They’ve just announced their first North American tour in nearly a decade, but Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is keen for the band to take on more work. In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine (confusingly…), the rock legend wants them to record a new album.

The 71 year old guitarist revealed that “we're talking about doing some recording after this tour, but there's nothing definite. We just threw out the idea. I'd like to get the boys back in the studio again, yeah. Anything can happen.”

Get On Up Review

Very Good

With an appropriately jarring sense of energy, this James Brown biopic acutely captures the Godfather of Soul's iconic musical talents, although the fragmented script undermines any emotional kick in his story. The film also struggles to build up momentum, because it continually leaps between various chapters in Brown's life. Which means that it never quite connects these disparate episodes into one coherent narrative. Even so, Chadwick Boseman delivers an electrically charged central performance.

Boseman plays James from the time he was 16, thrown into prison for stealing a suit in 1949, until his comeback in the 1990s. Raised in a brothel run by his Aunt Honey (Octavia Spencer) after his parents (Viola Davis and Lennie James) abandoned him, James is in prison when he meets visiting gospel singer Bobby Byrd (Nelsan Ellis), who takes him in on his release. Together they form The Famous Flames, gaining small-time success as James catches the eye of a manager (Dan Aykroyd), a record executive (Fred Melamed) and the public. A string of major hits followed in the 1950s and 60s, then James went solo in the 70s before the usual issues of fame caught up with him: money, drugs and guns. But he returned to the stage in the 1990s.

The film completely skips over his Hollywood years in the 80s, which wouldn't be a problem if the decade was so notably missing from the film. As the story skips back and forth through the years, the audience is forced to make sense of the disparate scenes, filling in several holes along the way. Aside from one rather surreal scene in a Southern Gospel church, there's never much of a sense of how Brown found his voice or developed his inimitable style. It also never quite captures his impact on the music industry as a whole.

How James Brown's Famed Apollo Show Inspired 'Get On Up' Creators

James Brown is well-known as one of the greatest American entertainers of all time and his brand new biopic, 'Get On Up' starring Chadwick Boseman displays some of the most memorable moments in his life - most notably, his 1960s show at Harlem's Apollo theater.

Star Dan Aykroyd, who plays James Brown's manager Ben Bart in the film, describes his own experience of the hit Apollo show; a non-stop revue that brought him worldwide acclaim and recognition when it was recorded for his 1963 live album 'Live At The Apollo'. 'I remember it, when the show started, James came out and then you had four other dancing girls, then you had two timpani players and then there were probably 25 people on stage', Aykroyd recalls. 'It just never stopped. Then it went into 'Sex Machine'; it just ripped the roof off the place and tore everybody's hair out.'

Mick Jagger has starred in a promotional video for the upcoming Monty Python live shows, the first of which will be held tonight at London's O2 venue. The Rolling Stones rocker displays his witty sense of humour as well as his ability to laugh at himself by dismissing the Python troupe as "a bunch of wrinkly old men."

Jagger is shown sitting on his sofa with drummer Charlie Watts watching the World Cup before discussing Python's reunion. "Monty Python? Are they still going?" he asks in mock amazement. "Who wants to see that again? It was funny in the Sixties."

When an aide tells him that tickets for the first gig at London's O2 arena sold out in 40 seconds, Jagger replies "Wow. They must be coining it in. That's pretty amazing," adding "But they're still a bunch of wrinkly old men trying to relive their youth and make a load of money. I mean, the best one died years ago!"

L’wren Scott’s sister, who was estranged from the fashion designer before her death, has a few choice words for Mick Jagger. 53-year-old Jan Shane has been quite vocal since the Rolling Stone began to be photographed with a bevy of beautiful women less than three months after Scott's suicide. “The more I think about it, the angrier it makes me. My sister deserves more respect. I now believe that he was a bigger part of her troubles than we knew about,” Shane told the Daily Mirror.

Eleven weeks after the death of his girlfriend L’Wren Scott, 70-year-old Mick Jagger has been photographed with Israeli model Noa Tishby. The picture of the pair was posted by stunning Tishby on her Instagram and Twitter accounts after a Rolling Stones gig in Tel Aviv. 37-year-old Tishby is a former Israeli soap star, who landed a role on soap opera Ramat Aviv Gimmel after graduating from Tel Aviv’s National Museum of Arts. She released an album called “Nona” which was the first English-spoken album by an Israeli artist. After moving to the United States, Tishby starred in Michael Bay’s movie The Island alongside Hollywood big names Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johannson. She also landed leading roles in a couple of indie movies, Fatwa and Connecting Dots before appearing on television shows including NCIS, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Nip/Tuck and Star Trek: Enterprise. Her most recent movie appearance was in The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past with Matthew McConaughey (a film made in 2009, or pre-McConaissance, if you've not already guessed from the title).

Mick Jagger - Who'd have thought that fine art could be created out of something as butch as a hammer and a bunch of nails? But that's exactly what former architect David Foster has achieved with his unique nail portraits. David's art covers a range of subjects such as celebrities, animals, flowers and, get this, even a hammer and nail! The level of precision and realism in his art is a result of years of practicing and perfecting his technique. Thrilled with the simplicity of making a picture from just dots Foster says, "I have always been fascinated with how little information the brain needs to interpret a picture." On an average, his smaller drawings number about 5,000 nails, while larger ones can have as many as 30,000. David's prize winning piece made from 16,000 nails is called Lashes and Nails. David evidently loves what he does, going by what he tells us on his website. "The whole process thrills me, taking just a hammer and a box of nails and arranging them into an artwork. It is very tactile art and the viewer will find it hard not to touch the work," he writes. He also insists that the best way to view his work is up close, since photographs don't do much justice to it. - Warrington, Cheshire, United Kingdom - Friday 22nd November 2013
