(You'll Never Be) Alone on Christmas Day was released on Love's Meleco Records on Friday (06Nov15).

He originally wrote the tune with classical pianist Ron Altbach and the Beach Boys cut a rough demo, but the recording was never completed.

Love returned to the track earlier this year (15) when indie rockers Phoenix approached him and asked for his permission to cover the song for Bill Murray's upcoming Netflix holiday special, A Very Murray Christmas.

"This song has a wonderfully strange and beautiful history," Love says. "I'm grateful to the band Phoenix for digging it up and inspiring me to finish something I started 36 years ago... I hope fans find inspiration in the song during this special time of year."

And the singer reveals the artwork for the single features a holiday photo from his family archives - a five-year-old Love and his sister Maureen listening to their great-grandmother Alberta Clardy read a Christmas story to them.
