Miley Cyrus has firmly established her reign as a social media queen, but the term “Miley Cyrus pregnant,” which trended for a little while today, was definitely not something she initiated. According to the website, Cyrus “stole the show” when she stood up on stage and made the announcement at the BET Hip Hop Awards. The article goes into detail, saying that the audience first laughed in disbelief, but applauded when Miley confirmed that the announcement was, in fact, serious.

“I assure you, she’s been doing a lot more than twerking,” the alleged dad-to-be is quoted as saying, while Miley’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, even managed to sneak in a reference to his own music, apparently.

Vaguely racist statements aside, however, it has now become quite clear that the rumor is false. Miley herself cleared the air via Twitter (naturally) earlier today. The young star, who just recently announced her breakup with actor Liam Hemsworth, managed to make a joke out of the entire debacle, tweeting: “waking up to the news that I'm now pregnant with @therealjuicyj baby”

She then tweeted her final word on the would-be scandal:
