Miley Cyrus has been cast in Woody Allen’s Amazon Prime series.
News of Cyrus’ casting was first broken by Deadline, who reported that Allen had set the series’ principal cast, with Cyrus joining Elaine May, who last worked with Allen in 2000’s Small Time Crooks.
Cyrus then confirmed the news on Instagram, sharing a portrait of Allen and writing: ‘F—k yeah ! Stoked to be in Woody Allen’s first series!!!!! I had claimed 2016 to be my year of "chillin the f—k out" but next to my bed for a few years now has been this portrait of W.A. & I was looking into his eyes when I got the call to be apart of the cast and work alongside the bad a$$ Elaine May & da dude himself!'

When the series was announced last January, Roy Price vice president of Amazon Studios commented: "Woody Allen is a visionary creator who has made some of the greatest films of all-time, and it's an honor to be working with him on his first television series.”
“From Annie Hall to Blue Jasmine, Woody has been at the creative forefront of American cinema and we couldn't be more excited to premiere his first TV series exclusively on Prime Instant Video next year.”

But Allen has been very opened about his struggles with the series, admitting in May that he 'regrets every second’ since signing the deal. “I have regretted every second since I said OK,” Allen told Deadline.
“It’s been so hard for me. I had the cocky confidence, well, I’ll do it like I do a movie…it’ll be a movie in six parts, turns out, it’s not. For me, it has been very, very difficult. I’ve been struggling and struggling and struggling. I only hope that when I finally do it — I have until the end of 2016 — they’re not crushed with disappointment because they’re nice people and I don’t want to disappoint them.”
