Milla Jovovich Not Convinced By 'Resident Evil' Reboot Plans

Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich headed up the 'Resident Evil' movie franchise as lead character Alice ever since the original movie's debut all the way back in 2002. Earlier this year however, her series was brought to an end in 'The Final Chapter', but that hasn't stopped big wigs from already putting in place plans to reboot the franchise and bring it back to the big screen sooner rather than later.

Based once more on the original video games of the same name, there are no further details about what viewers might see when the proposed first film in the new series does eventually debut.

Resident Evil 6: The Final Chapter Trailer

Milla Jovich takes to the screen as the badass undead slayer, Alice, in Resident Evil 6; the final instalment of the hugely successful film series.

Over the course of the five previous movies, Racoon City found itself being overrun by the undead who have been infected by a mutant virus that originated thanks a deadly vile being stolen from a corporation known as The Hive Corporation who manufacture genetic material. The virus was so strong that it was unable to be contained to one city; it soon spread to the far reaches of the world.

After The Umbrella corporation witness Alice's apparent powers, they decide to modify her (whilst she's in a coma and without her consent) and also take samples of her DNA to hopefully clone. Alice’s mission takes her to different parts of the world and as she learns of the clones, the war between the undead and the soldiers working with Umbrella deepen and Alice’s main aim is to find a safe haven for survivors to retreat to.

Cult Sci-Fi Actress Milla Jovovich Ruling Us Box Office With 'Resident Evil 5'

Milla Jovovich Paul W S Anderson

Milla Jovovich films over the years have gained something of a cult following among science fiction fans, with the actress receiving a host of awards and nominations for various best sci-fi actress categories. It's no surprise then that as she returned to the genre as one of the leads in the fifth Resident Evil film , her star power ensured that it would go to the top of the US Box Office charts on its debut over the weekend.

Speaking ahead of the film's release, Jovovich had revealed a great pride in the film, and her husband and writer-director Paul WS Anderson. "The one thing that I was really happy about when Paul wrote the script was... we watch a lot of action films together, and to see especially what not to do, and sometimes what we love and wanna exemplify," she explained to Flicks And Bits. "But, one thing we were in agreement on was that we watched quite a few movies where there was a lot of great action, but you didn't really care because you had no empathy for the character who was in the midst of this danger."

With the duo working together, the film has taken some $21.3 million at the box office to go top of the pile, beating out the much more fancied 3D re-release of Finding Nemo in the process, according to the BBC.

Video - Kelly Osbourne's Hairdo Inspired By Amy Winehouse? - Marchesa Arrivals NYFW Part 2

It was the turn of the fashion retail brand Marchesa to host a fashion show at the New York Fashion Week 2011 and their legions of celebrity fans showed up to get a glimpse at their upcoming designs. Among the arrivals were 'Tangled' actress and singer Mandy Moore, who grins at the photographers but does not stop to pose and 'Resident Evil' beauty Milla Jovovich, looking elegant in a black dress with a fur trim, looks over her shoulder and smiles knowingly at the photographers but does not stay for too long. Kelly Osbourne also looked glam with her blonde hair in a beehive, which resembles the trademark beehive of one of her best friends, the tragic Amy Winehouse. Unlike her fellow celebs, Kelly stays and poses for the cameras.

Marchesa was established in 2004 and has since then gained a number of A-list fans, including Selena Gomez; Miley Cyrus and Sandra Bullock. The sophisticated women's clothing brand also designed socialite Nicole Richie's wedding dress for her marriage to rocker Joel Madden.

Zoolander Review

Very Good
In Zoolander, the world's most successful, influential and intellectually-challenged male model Derek Zoolander wonders, "Is there more to life than being really really really good looking?" Obviously, the film's creator and star Ben Stiller asked a similar question when crafting a feature-length movie out of his hilarious VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards short-film subject: Can there be more to this film than being really really really silly? No, of course not, and it never aspires to be anything more.

Much like Derek, Zoolander is a sweet simpleton of a movie. It's not complex in either its social commentary or its comedy, and it never produces any gut-busting laughs (except maybe a scene when Derek's model roommates all die in a tragic "gasoline fight" accident -- a riotously funny take-off of Tommy Hilfiger ads). But it has a satisfying handful of strong chuckles, wild characters and performances, and mildly harsh potshots at the fashion industry to keep you amused. Better yet, this exaggerated version of the original three-minute skit is only blown out to an efficient 95 minutes -- just enough time to string together its goofball plot without exhausting the gag.

Dummy Review

Excellent
Just before Adrien Brody delivered his Oscar-winning performance as an isolated and frightened Holocaust survivor in The Pianist, he played a whole different kind of isolated and frightened. As Steven, a lonely underachiever in Greg Pritikin's fantastic indie comedy Dummy, Brody finds solace not in piano music, but in the twisted art of ventriloquism.

It's an offbeat concept that might fit in a chop-'em-up horror movie or a sad, pathetic character study -- yet writer/director Pritikin finds his own niche with the idea, producing a creatively eclectic tale. Dummy is full of exciting surprising laughs, true heart, and enough dysfunctional characters to fill a Wes Anderson film.
