The former The Smiths star has been without a label since August last year (14) when he parted from Capitol Music and Harvest Records, and he has spoken frequently since about the lack of interest in his music from the industry.

He has continued to tour since then and is due to play a show in Hull, England on Friday (18Sep15) followed by a brace of concerts in London on Sunday and Monday (20-21Sep15), but in a shock announcement, the Suedehead hitmaker has told fans the gigs will probably be his last ever in Britain.

In a statement, Morrissey writes, "There is absolutely no way that we can generate any interest from record labels in the United Kingdom, therefore the imminent two nights at Hammersmith (in London) are likely to be our final ever U.K. shows. We are obsessively grateful for all interest and loyalty from our audience... throughout 28 years... but without new releases, there is no point in any additional touring. Thank you for so many absolutely incredible times. The pleasure and privilege is mine..."
