Dead Star/ In your eyes

Release 17th June 2002

Following the success of their last double A side single (Hypermusic/ Feeling Good) Muse release Dead Star/ In your eyes. Both of the new songs are taken off their impending live DVD album titled HULLABALOO.

The single is infused with the same "recipe for chaos" Muse are well renowned for. Loud fast catchy guitar riffs coupled with Mat Bellamy's Operatic "angst-driven" vocal, we've heard it before but it still seems to be working without getting tiresome.

Dead Star is the first single. On hearing the track for the first time, I felt it had a typical commercial intro, although it soon transformed into the full- throttled rock we have grown love.

"In Your Eyes" doesn't stand out as much as the first track, it opens with the A-typical "Muse" quiet classical piano intro; featured mainly on "Showbiz", but then breaks out into an "Origin of Symmetry" feel "fast and furious", this divergent cocktail works very well. Both tracks are impressive and as enthusiastic as ever, Dead Star with the nauseating power of "Plug In Baby" while "In Your Eyes" is a little more abstract and could sit well alongside "Sunburn".

For any fan of Muse neither song will dissatisfy!
