A madcap bunch of Geordies, Lovemat. Like some sort of psychotic, sleaze rock monster, they have songs with refrains such as "Once I was a wolf!" Any band that can build a song around this notion can't be that bad can they?
Lovemat lurch from one dark, train wreck of a song to the next, oblivious of the rules and conventions supposedly imposed by genre.
This is punky, psychobilly-esque, stomping rock n roll nonsense at its best, reminiscent at times of that other odd troupe The 80s Matchbox B Line Disaster. They breed them weird in the north east you know.
