The former lover of Diana Princess Of Wales, Dr Hasnat Khan, has slammed the new Hollywood movie about the late royal, calling reports that he collaborated "a complete lie."

Dr Khan, played by Lost star Naveen Andrews, is a key character in the movie, which stars Naomi Watts as Diana. Khan, who was in a relationship between 1996 and 1997, admitted he had not seen the film but accused it of being "based on gossip."

In an interview with the Mail on Sunday, Khan, now consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at Basildon University hospital, said he had seen stills from the film and could tell filmmakers had got it badly wrong.

"I could tell immediately those were never our mannerisms at all, with [my] hands folded behind the back and all that.

You could tell from that picture that it is all just presumed about how we would behave with each other, and they have got it completely wrong," he said.

The movie focuses on the relationship between the two, which ended shortly before Diana's death in a car accident in August 1997. It is adapted from the 2001 book, Diana: Her Last Love by Kate Snell.

Dr Khan also rejected a suggestion by the movie's producer that he had given the film his "tacit acceptance," saying, "It is a complete lie. I have never given any approval."

Diana, from director Oliver Hirschbiegel, hits cinemas on September 20, 2013. So far, there's no reviews: so we really have no idea whether it's gonna be any good or not.
