Review of Man Like I Album by Natty

Album Review for 'Man Like I' by Natty.

Natty Man Like I Album

Natty is a UK Rasta who influences span from reggae to folk, to soul and hip hop consciousness. It makes for a really good blend of contemporary music and positive uplifting soul. Natty plays guitar in his band that portrays a definite Bob Marley/Ben Harper influence. It creates good musicianship that features on his debut album 'Man Like I' and some good solos too.

Indeed it's a good album. It has some very real uplifting lyrics that show genuine thought and angst that needs to be heard. It very much reminds me of Finlay Quaye's debut 'Maverick A Strike' and fits in that funk groove and soulful sentiment. 'July' is a great track to start with and 'Cold Town' has a great sing a long hook. 'Bedroom Eyes' is his next single to be released and again shows honest heartfelt lyrics.
'Man Like I' should appeal to a wide range of people. It has catchy elements, good musicianship and poignant lyrics. Atlantic should be happy with Natty and let's hope he gets the right breaks to make an even better second album.
