Fact: Willie Nelson will receive a star-studded tribute when he is presented with the 2015 Gershwin Prize for Popular Song next month (Nov15). Rosanne Cash, Jamey Johnson, Alison Krauss, Neil Young and Promise of the Real, the band featuring Nelson's son Lukas, and Paul Simon and his wife Edie Brickell will be among the acts paying tribute to the 82 year old at the annual Library of Congress gala in Washington, D.C. Nelson will be the first country music artist to receive America's prestigious award, named after brothers George and Ira Gershwin.

The American Hustle star donned a permed wig for his near-perfect guitar-less performance, during which he acted out Young's guitar riffs for the audience and viewers.

Fact: Rocker Neil Young's Kickstarter.com campaign for the launch of his new Pono Music service and player has banked over $6.2 million (£3.88 million). The fundraiser closed on Tuesday (15Apr14) with 18,220 backers after smashing its initial aim of just $800,000 (£500,000) within hours of going live on 11 March (14). The huge success of the project has made it the third most-backed cause in the website's five-year history.

Fact: Eight black and white films featuring Neil Young performing each song from the deluxe version of his new album Le Noise have been posted on YouTube.com. The full Le Noise Film - a 38-minute performance movie - was shot by filmmaker Adam CK Vollick. The project was filmed at director Daniel Lanois' home studio in Silverlake, Los Angeles, where Young recorded the album.
