This year is going to be wrapped up with a brand new season of Charlie Brooker's Netflix original series 'Black Mirror', with the streaming service announcing the show will be launching all of its new season 4 episodes on Friday, December 29, 2017. A new trailer for the season was also unveiled, which you can check out below:

Six episodes make up the new season, with a whole host of big name stars including Jesse Plemons, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jimmi Simpson, Cristin Milioti, Aldis Hodge, Maxine Peake, Andrea Riseborough, Letitia Wright and Michaela Coel.

There are also some major names serving as directors on the season, with Jodie Foster, Toby Haynes, John Hillcoat, Colm McCarthy, Tim Van Patten and David Slade helming one of the six new episodes each.

Continuing on as an anthology series, 'Black Mirror' will once again tap into a collective unease shared by the majority of its audience, bringing exaggerated versions of the modern world into play and providing a glimpse into what the world may actually look like in the future, if advancements in technology and the like continue to progress in such a rapid way.

It's that sense of realism that makes the episodes we've seen of 'Black Mirror' so far so unsettling at times, and with the trailer above and the little teasers from each episode we've seen in the run-up to the new season, we imagine that's something that's going to continue throughout the new episodes.

Whether we're taking to outer space for what looks to be the zaniest episode to-date, or following the story of a parent who has a 'control' implant embedded into their child's brain, it's going to be one wild ride this December.
