Youtube sensation Miranda Sings has been given her own eight-episode series on Netflix titled ‘Haters Back Off’. The pop wannabe is the comedy creation of 29-year-old Colleen Ballinger-Evans and she's been collecting fans on Youtube with her out of tune vocals since 2008.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the series take a closer look at the family life of Miranda, who is described as “an incredibly confident, totally untalented star on the rise who continues to fail upward by the power of her belief that she was born famous, it’s just no one knows it yet.”

Perry Rein and Gigi McCreery, who have worked together on ‘Friends’ and ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ will serve as the showrunners, after developing the series with Ballinger-Evans and her brother, Christopher Ballinger. The foursome will executive-produce, along with Jeff Kwatinetz and Josh Barry of The Firm. Brightlight Pictures Inc.

Ballinger-Evans first started making videos as the tone-deaf pop wannabe in 2008, as something of an in-joke amongst her friends. Her Youtube channel, where she gives advice and produces music videos, has so far grown to attract over 5.7 million subscribers.

She has made appearances as Miranda on 'Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee' with Jerry Seinfeld and toured globally with her cabaret act. In July 2015 she released her first book, Selp-Helf, which topped the New York Times bestseller list for Advice, How-To & Miscellaneous for 11 weeks.
