Following the successful launch of 'Stranger Things' season 2 on Netflix this week, co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer, also known as The Duffer Brothers have already confirmed that they've started writing the series' third season. Responsible for one of the most talked about original series on the streaming service, there's a lot of expectation surrounding the show's future.

Fans followed the journey of a group of youngsters in the first season, who lost one of their friends to a place called the 'Upside Down', whilst gaining a new one in a girl known only by the branding on her arm - 'Eleven'. With a series of powers and abilities, she helped the group discover more about the strange world their friend had been confined to, all whilst the friends battled against a demonic force known as the Demogorgon.

It was a riveting watch, and one that kept everybody gripped and on the edge of their seats throughout. Season 2 looks to be doing the same for viewers, but The Duffer Brothers now firmly have the future in their sights.

Speaking with Deadline, Ross Duffer explained: "The hardest thing with this story is that we were tracking these multiple storylines and having them sort of build about at the same pace as to crescendo at the same time. It’s always the hardest part as we move into writing.

"Like we’re starting on season 3 now, it’s always the most difficult thing just to get those to build simultaneously. It’s always a challenge, and so we’re still learning. I mean, we’re trying to do this eight-hour, nine-hour movie so to get that pacing just right, you know, it’s always hard."

The comments come after reports earlier this year that suggested Netflix would want the creators to film seasons 3 and 4 back-to-back, and after The Duffer Brothers suggested season 4 would be their last with the series. Whether or not that timetable is something they'll all be sticking to however, remains to be seen.
