Evan Rachel Wood (born September 7th 1987) Evan Rachel Wood is an American actress. Woods' career has mostly been in independent films and she is mostly known for her role as Queen Sophie-Anne in 'True Blood' and her role in 'Mildred Pierce'.
Childhood Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh, California. Her parents are actors/directors Ira David Wood III and Sarah Lynn Moore. Wood was first involved in theatre in her father's production of 'A Christmas Carol'. She attended public school Cary Elementary in North Carolina before getting home-schooled, and she received her diploma when she was 15.
Career: In 1998, Wood starred in low-budget movie 'Digging To China' with Kevin Bacon. This role led to a nomination for Best Leading Young Actress at the Young Artist Awards. The same year she starred in 'Practical Magic' with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. In 2002, the teenager had her first lead role in Blair Treu's 'Little Secrets'. The same year, Wood starred in sci-fi movie 'S1m0ne'. 2003 saw the release of controversial film 'Thirteen' in which Wood starred as one of two teenagers who fall into the world of hard drugs, sex and violence. This role saw her nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. 2005 saw the Wood star alongside Edward Norton in David Jacobson's Down 'In The Valley'. She also starred in punk rock band Green Day's music video for 'Wake Me Up When September Ends'. 2007 saw Wood play in 'King of California' in which Michael Douglas played a bi-polar jazz musician who reunites with his daughter, played by Wood. Wood did voice over work for an alien called Mala in 2008's 'Battle for Terra'. The film won the 2008 Grand Prize at the Ottawa International Animation Festival. In 2008 she appeared in Darren Aronofsky's 'The Wrestler' as the daughter of actor Mickey Rourke. The film won the Golden Lion Award for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival. In 2009, Wood starred in Woody Allen's 'Whatever Works', playing Larry David's young wife. In the same year, joined HBO's 'True Blood'. She also starred in 'The Ides of March' and 'Mildred Pierce', in which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a miniseries or a movie.
Personal Life: Evan Rachel Wood is married to 'Billy Elliot' actor Jamie Bell with whom she has one child. The couple started to date in 2005 but broke up for five years before getting wed in 2012. During their split, she began dating goth rocker Marilyn Manson from 2007. They split the following year but were engaged by 2010. They parted permanently towards the end of that year.
