Music producer Dr. Luke has filed a request to dismiss the sexual abuse lawsuit pop star Kesha brought against him in October (14).
The Tik Tok hitmaker hit headlines when she filed the suit against her producer, real name Lukasz Gottwald, accusing him of subjecting her to years of sexual, physical, verbal and emotional abuse after he signed her at the age of 18.
Gottwald promptly filed a countersuit, claiming all the allegations were false and that Kesha was trying to extort him to break free from her contract.
He also noted that in 2011, Kesha stated in a deposition that Gottwald never made any sexual advances on her.
On Monday (17Nov14), attorneys for Gottwald argued in a court filing that Kesha's claim she was raped by the hitmaker is barred by the statute of limitations.
Neither Kesha nor her legal team made an immediate comment on Monday's filing.
