Nicki Minaj performing at Philly Jam on the 4th of July – the word combination inspires a lot of “yes.” Or maybe that should be “yass.” Nicki is at the top of her game these days, and she just can’t help but drop a whole lot of game on everyone each time she hits the stage. Add The Roots to that combo, and there’s a great show on its own. She blazed through favorites like Super Bass and Beez in the Trap, and included a couple of low-key moments with the new ballad Pills N Potions.

Beez in the Trap served as the ending for a medley, which included the Soulja Boy collab Yass B---- (naturally) and Did It On Em.

Besides celebrating her own personal independence, Nicki also gave a special Philly shoutout.
