Fans of the X Factor have been struggling with the show this year and a few people have been unable to believe it’s not a fix. However, one star of the show, Xtra Factor host, Rylan Clark-Neal has come out to defend the programme after the latest round of accusations.

Last week’s suggested scandal was the fact that the ‘random’ jukebox - which decides the theme of the next week’s show - conveniently landed on Fright Night.

And, of course, it’s Halloween celebrations this weekend.

However, Rylan, who is a former contestant himself, is the latest voice to come out and defend the decision.

Speaking on Wednesday’s This Morning, he said: "It’s not fixed whatsoever. I was actually standing at the side of the stage.

"That jukebox is pretty much an empty shell with a genuine wheel."

He added: "As it was coming round, I had the executive producer of the show, about a metre away, trying to blow it."

Rylan also said that Fright Night would have been appropriate for the week before the final.

Rylan is the third person on the X Factor to speak out about the incident.

Judge Nicole Scherzinger has said she can’t pick songs for her contestants until the wheel has been spun and Simon Cowell admitted on Rylan’s show that they were going to "get slaughtered for this".

The controversy continues.
