Cannon, who already has two children named Moroccan and Monroe with his ex Mariah Carey, opted for a similarly outlandish name for his newborn son.
Former ‘America’s Got Talent’ star Nick Cannon has become a father for the second time, welcoming a baby boy into the world with his current partner Brittany Bell this week – and they’ve chosen a spectacularly unusual name!
The 36 year old singer and actor welcomed his son, named Golden “Sagon” Cannon – that’s right, with the quotation marks! – on Tuesday (February 21st), taking to Instagram to mark the occasion.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy cometh in the morning! No matter how hard the world may hit you, God always reminds us of our purpose!” Cannon wrote in the caption under the picture of him cradling the infant. “Welcome to the earth son.”
He is, of course, already a father to five year old twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe, whom he shares with ex-wife Mariah Carey. Celebrity baby fans will be pleased to learn that Cannon has gone for a similarly unusual name for the new arrival.

Indeed, it was reported the following day that the 47 year old singer had sent her warm congratulations to her ex and the former Miss Arizona on the happy occasion.
“Nick told both of his other kids about the baby and that they will have a new sibling,” a source told E! Online. “Mariah has been aware of the baby for a while now and she congratulated him. They are on fine terms and continue to be good parents for their children.”
Nick Cannon became a father again this week
And, according to a recent radio interview with Power 106 Los Angeles, Cannon and Bell are thinking about quickly making more additions to their brood.
“I wanted it to be with someone who was solid, spiritual and had the same views,” Cannon said of his history with Brittany Bell. “She’s been in my life. Our families grew up in the same projects together in San Diego. So, there’s a lot of substance there. I always wanted five kids. Just because my marriage was over didn’t mean I couldn’t continue to grow a family.”
