Warner Bros. may not have seen the critical and commercial success they had hoped for with most recent DC Extended Universe release 'Justice League', but that doesn't mean they won't be ploughing ahead with all of the planned crime-fighting superhero flicks they've got on their slate.

One of those planned movies is 'Nightwing', which would bring the character (aka Dick Grayson) to the big screen for the first time. Whilst the storyline and overarching plot for the film hasn't yet been revealed, we do know that Bill Dubuque is writing the screenplay, with Chris McKay sitting in the director's chair.

Some of the biggest questions surrounding the flick are of course who will be starring, and in particular, who will be taking on the titular role.

Speaking with Comic Book, the singer-turned-actor said it would be "awesome" to take on the superhero role, saying: "I'd be super down for this. I didn't know there was people vying for me to play this role but keep the chatter alive people! If you vote for me, maybe they'll cast me in it! And then, I don't know, I'll thank you all later."

What many of those new to the world of superheroes don't realise is that Nightwing and Robin are often the same person; Nightwing is simply the version of Dick Grayson that has moved on from his time working under the wings of the Batman, branching out on his own to take down the criminals roaming the streets of Gotham City and beyond.

Of course, when 'Nightwing' does come to cinemas across the globe, those who don't know too much about the hero will be finding out a lot more if they put their bums in movie theatre seats. Let's hope this one gets all the work, planning and preparation it deserves!
