American Fashion designer Nicole Richie claims her wardrobe ''is not as big as you would think''.
Nicole Richie's closet is surprisingly small.
The 33-year-old fashion designer and TV personality confessed that although her wardrobe has ''overflow'' it isn't as big as people would think.
The former 'The Simple Life' star - who has six-year-old Harlow and five-year-old Sparrow with her husband Joel Madden - added that her bright blue hair has made it easier to reduce the size of her wardrobe as she refuses to wear sparkly garments or anything that could ''overwhelm'' her visually.
She told Yahoo! Style: ''My closet is not as big as you would think. It definitely has overflow, but having colored hair has helped because there are some things I'm just not going to wear right now.
''It's safe to say you're not going to see me in anything sparkling from head to toe like a Studio 54 disco ball. So I can put that away. I don't like to overwhelm myself visually.''
Nicole - who has modelled in campaigns for luxury label Jimmy Choo in the past - has learnt to embrace the difficulties of maintaining her vibrant locks and is happy to ''go with the flow'' when it comes to dying her hair.
She said: ''You know what I realized? You know who colours their hair all the time? 20-year-old idiots. They don't care.
''Every time I would dye my hair and every time I would wash my hair it would come out a different colour and I was like, 'Am I doing something wrong?' And then it hit me: No one else complains because they're 20 and an idiot. They don't care. If you're going to have coloured hair you have to go with the flow and think to yourself, 'I'm 20, I don't care.'''
