Andrew Lloyd Webber has never been one to mince his words and when it comes to the Broadway arrangement of his musical 'Cats', he's no different. He's brazenly told the world that he's 'furious' with star Nicole Scherzinger for dropping out at the last minute so that she could return to 'The X Factor'.

Nicole ScherzingerNicole Scherzinger not hitting Broadway for 'Cats'

It's a shame, but it's true; the former 'Pussycat Doll' is leaving the whiskers behind so that she can go back to the talent show alongside Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh. She was a popular asset to the West End run of the 'Cats' revival in 2015, where she played Grizabella the Glamour Cat, a role popularized originally by Elaine Paige.

Now Scherzinger feels that her heart lies on the judging panel and not the stage, and Webber has bluntly stated that she 'will not get her Tony Award' after making him look stupid in front of the American producers of the musical.

'A week before we were going to go into rehearsal with 'Cats' on Broadway, which luckily I'm not producing, she calls me and says she's decided she wants to do X Factor, having agreed everything', he told The Economist in a radio interview. 'I mean, she's crazy.' He added that the Broadway producers were less affected by this news, given that she is less famous over there than in the UK.

'I'm furious because I really believe she's the most fantastically talented girl and I went out on a limb to get her for the London Palladium here, and it makes me look like an absolute twot with them all', he continued. 'But never mind, there'll be another girl on Broadway and Nicole will not get her Tony Award.'

Does this mean that Scherzinger's stage career is over? She'll certainly be lucky to get the chance to work with Webber again after coming under his wrath. But at least we know she's back on 'The X Factor. However, we're still awaiting confirmation over Sharon Osbourne's return after her recent personal troubles have left the job hanging.
