From the producers of the Oscar-winning Amy Winehouse documentary 'Amy' comes 'Supersonic'; an exploration of the rise to fame of one of Britain's most successful rock bands, Oasis. Featuring a combination of archival footage and interviews with the band members, it's set to hit theatres this Autumn.

'Supersonic' sees Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher depict their extraordinary success from being just two brothers on a Manchester council estate to selling out stadiums and arenas all over the country and beyond in just three years. They, along with bands like Pulp and Blur, helped revitalise the UK music scene, bringing Britpop to widespread popularity.

The documentary is so named after Oasis' first single, which was released in 1994 and peaked at number 31 in the UK charts. It featured on their debut album 'Definitely Maybe' which did a little better and hit number one. It actually went on to be the fastest selling debut album in the UK of all time and sold more than 15 million copies.

At the helm is award-winning director Mat Whitecross, best known for 2006's 'The Road to Guantanamo' and the music dramas 'Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll' and 'Spike Island'. His last project was the 2014 Primetime Emmy nominated mini-series 'Fleming'. Also featuring in the documentary are Liam and Noel's mother Peggy Gallagher, Creation Records owner Alan McGee, Oasis' manager Marcus Russell and other former members Tony McCarroll and Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs.

Influenced by the likes of The Beatles, The Stone Roses and The Who, Oasis formed in the early 90s and were soon signed by Creation. They lived a hedonistic rock 'n' roll lifestyle as people rocked out to tunes like 'Wonderwall', 'Don't Look Back in Anger' and 'D'You Know What I Mean?'. They had a well-publicized rivalry with Blur, but the most well-known rivalry of them all was that of Liam and Noel; one which would eventually split the band up.

'Supersonic' will be released in UK cinemas on October 2nd 2016, and on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 31st.
