Oprah told Bloomberg Media that, while she had "never considered the question" before, a shot at the White House was a possibility.
If Donald Trump can do it, why can’t she? Chat show legend Oprah Winfrey has teased the potential of a presidential run in the future, though she added that she’d never considered “even the possibility”.
The 63 year old presenter and philanthropist gave an interview to Bloomberg Media’s David Rubenstein on Wednesday (March 1st), and the two began discussing politics and the social upheaval that has accompanied the election of Donald Trump last year.
Is Oprah Winfrey considering running for president in 2020?
Winfrey, who has always kept on top of the subject of American politics, had “never considered the question, even the possibility. I just thought, ‘Oh. Oh.’… I thought, ‘I don’t have the experience. I don’t know enough.’ And now I am thinking, ‘Oh.'”
Inaugurated back on January 20th following a highly controversial and divisive campaign, Trump is the first president to gain office without any previous governmental or military experience.

It’s unclear as to how serious she was in the interview, but Oprah was quite closely involved with both of Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns. In 2007 and 2008, she held fundraisers and appeared at rallies in Iowa, South Carolina and California, with many insiders crediting her influence in getting public support behind him during the primaries.
In 2016, while she threw her support behind the defeated Hillary Clinton by publicly endorsing her, Oprah didn’t go so far as to appear at rallies as she did with Obama.
“The reason why I haven’t been vocal other than saying, ‘I’m with her,’ is because I didn’t know what I could say that could actually pierce through all the noise, and the chaos, and the disgusting vitriol that is going on, and actually be heard,” she said in October.
