She's Funny That Way - Clips

Highly respected theatre director Arnold Albertson could not have made more of a mistake when he spends the night with a young and attractive escort named Izzy; now determined to become an actress, she turns up at auditions for his next big Broadway show the following day. To make matters even more awkward, his wife Delta is already cast in the upcoming play and Izzy's remarkable skill leaves him no choice but to take her on to avoid suspicion from the rest of the impressed cast. Unfortunately, it isn't long before Delta's co-star and ex-boyfriend Seth (who happens to still be in love with Delta) finds out about Arnold's brazen infidelity, and with this hanging over him, Arnold has no idea if show will go on if the truth comes out. Izzy is also causing a stir in other people's love lives; her therapist Jane has fallen head over heels for Arnold's playwright Joshua, but he only has eyes for Izzy. Who knew one girl could be so much trouble?

First 'Zoolander 2' Trailer Leaks Online And Shows Us Inside Derek's Brain

Ben Stiller Owen Wilson Christine Taylor Justin Bieber Penelope Cruz

The first teaser trailer for Zoolander 2 has leaked online and let’s just say it’s really, really good-looking. In the two minute clip we're taken on a dark journey inside the mind of male model Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) who also poses one of life’s greatest questions, “If God exists, then why did he make ugly people?”

Ben StillerBen Stiller is reprising his role as the male model in Zoolander 2.

The trailer is narrated by a Stephen Hawking-esque voiceover who charts the history of the universe and mankind, before going deep inside the brain of Derek. Inside the model’s mind there many special nods to the first film for fans to look out for including a wind-up toy monkey, a mer-man and a dictionary definition of ‘eugoogly’.

Good

Wacky enough to make us smile but never laugh out loud, this screwball comedy harks back to those nutty 1970s farces Woody Allen used to make about a group of neurotic urbanites. Actually, filmmaker Peter Bogdanovich used to make those kinds of movies too (1972's What's Up Doc is a classic). But he gives this film an oddly muted tone and uneven cast, which leaves it enjoyably silly even though it's never very funny.

It's set in a version of Manhattan where everyone sees the same shrink, eats in the same restaurant and stays at the same hotel, conveniently. Isabella (Imogen Poots) is working as a hooker, and her next john is Arnold (Owen Wilson), who offers her $30,000 if she gives up being a call girl after tonight and pursues her dream of becoming an actress. Then when she goes for her first Broadway audition, she's shocked to discover that Arnold is the director, and her costars would be his wife Delta (Kathryn Hahn) and leery actor Seth (Rhys Ifans), who knows what she used to do for a living. Another ex-client (Austin Pendleton) is obsessing because Isabella has vanished, so he visits the tetchy therapist Jane (Jennifer Aniston), who not only happens to also be counselling Isabella but is dating the playwright Joshua (Will Forte) who fell for Isabella at her audition.

The entanglement between these seven characters is recounted in flashback as Isabella is interviewed by a jaded Hollywood reporter (Illeana Douglas), so the film has a rather episodic structure as it traces each slapstick encounter between these people. With the plot so ludicrously convoluted, it's up to the actors keep us entertained, and they're a mixed bag. Aniston is surprisingly funny as the short-tempered psychologist who really should be in therapy herself, and Hahn gets the balance just right between the manic emotion and the darker comedy. Ifans has his moments as well, creeping around the corners of most scenes. But Poots never quite convinces in the focal role, while Wilson merely recycles his usual hapless routine and Forte gets lost in the shuffle as the token nice guy.

They manage to make off with more than $17 million, making it one of the largest bank heists in American history (technically so, as most of the money belonged to the bank). Inherent Vice Review

Good

Like the Thomas Pynchon novel it's based on, this film remains infuriatingly evasive as its central mystery deepens. Also like Pynchon, writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson is more interested in characters than plot, expertly orchestrating a lively cast in a series of raucous scenes. That these moments never quite add up to a coherent bigger story may feel unsatisfying, but the groovy 1970s vibe is infectious, and there's a lot of fun to be had in watching these actors play around with the rambling dialogue and nutty interaction.

It's set in 1970 Los Angeles, where private investigator Doc (Joaquin Phoenix) is a stoner who'd rather not work at all. Then he agrees to help his ex-girlfriend Shasta (Katherine Waterston) find her missing property developer boyfriend Mickey (Eric Roberts). But this immediately puts him on a collision course with his long-time nemesis, Detective Bjornsen (James Brolin), a frozen-banana loving tough-guy cop known as Bigfoot. And the deeper Doc gets into the case, the more confusing it gets. Not only is the presumed-dead Coy (Owen Wilson) very much alive, but it's unclear whether a key clue about Golden Fang refers to a boat or a secret dental society. And suspiciously, Doc's DA friend Penny (Reese Witherspoon) always seems to be one step ahead of him on the case.

Anderson opens the film with a blinding flood of information and then simply never allows us to catch up, so like Doc we can't quite get a grip on what's actually going on. This effectively makes us feel as stoned as he is, bewildered by the way even the simplest revelations seem to contradict each other. But even as everything gets increasingly confusing, Anderson writes and directs scenes with a vivid intensity that's both hilariously entertaining and darkly involving. Each sequence carries a powerful punch, giving the superb cast plenty of quirky details to work with.

He is then shocked to discover her attending his audition the next day, where she performs alongside his wife Delta (Kathryn Hahn) and performs so well that he has to give her the part. As if that wasn't enough, Abertson's leading man (Rhys Ifans) knows about the affair, and also is in love with Delta. And if THAT wasn't enough, Izzy's therapist Jane (Jennifer Aniston), has fallen in love with the show's playwright Josh (Will Forte), who in turn has fallen in love with Izzy. All that remains, is to find out if the play with succeed with so many forces acing against it.

The Grand Budapest Hotel - Featurettes

While preparing to film 'The Grand Budapest Hotel', director Wes Anderson and company scouted for locations, finding an abandoned shopping centre which they converted into the lobby of the hotel. The exterior of the hotel was primarily shot through the use of miniatures, as were certain action sequences from the film. The minute detail was continued into the creation of costumes for the extras, as each one was supposedly created to have their own entire backstory. Furthermore, the setting for 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' is the fictional Republic of Zubrowka. This, too, was created in detail, with various passports, newspapers and small businesses that were designed with a tremendous amount of detail.

Owen Wilson Felt Comfortable With Funny Co-Stars On 'Night At The Museum 3'

Owen Wilson Ben Stiller Steve Coogan Rebel Wilson Robin Williams Ricky Gervais Shawn Levy

It's probably true when it comes to most family comedies that being involved is less stressful than a more serious drama, but Owen Wilson feels that doesn't ring more true than on the set of 'Night Of The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb'.

There may be a lot of chaos what with wild animals and cavemen running loose in London, but 'Night At The Museum' is a set that star Owen Wilson, who plays miniature cowboy Jedediah in the franchise, feels right at home on - mainly because of the stellar cast he has surrounding him. 'Working with Ben Stiller... we've worked together on a lot of things and for me it's just very familiar and very comfortable', he explains. 'And then Steve Coogan and Ben Stiller, that's who my scenes are usually always with... those guys just made me laugh.'

Ben Stiller "Definitely Would" Like Cara Delevingne To Star In 'Zoolander' Sequel

Ben Stiller Cara Delevingne Owen Wilson

There have been many whispers about the possibility of a follow-up to 2001’s hit comedy Zoolander, but one casting rumour seems to be solidifying. According to MTV, the film’s original star Ben Stiller wants British model Cara Delevingne to play a part.

Stiller was being interviewed to promote the third instalment of the family-friendly movies series Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb when he was asked about the existence of a sequel. He replied “There is a script, I won't deny there's a script, and there's been a reading of the script - but it hasn't yet been fully formulated.”

Inherent Vice - Extended Trailer

Larry "Doc" Sportello (Joaquin Phoenix) is a simple man. When he's not abusing illicit substances, he's solving crimes as a private investigator - although those two do sometimes overlap. But as the 1960s breath their dying breath, Doc's life is going to get perhaps a little too interesting for his liking. When his ex-girlfriend shows up one day, Doc finds himself unable to stay unintegrated with the 70s, as his new employer and former lover has him tracking down her new boyfriend and trying to thwart the plans of his wife and HER boyfriend. And if that wasn't complicated enough for him, there's something to do with a mysterious 'Golden Fang'. It's gonna be one hell of a decade.

Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb Review

Good

Now in its third instalment, it's clearer than ever that this franchise is based on one joke that has been stretched far beyond the breaking point. And not too cleverly at that. Fortunately, this movie retains much of the deranged idiocy that made the second part rather enjoyable. So it's watchable even if there aren't many new ideas, and even if filmmaker Shawn Levy is far too happy to settle for unnecessary digital effects work where a bit of character comedy would have been much more engaging.

Back on the job as a night watchman in New York, Larry (Ben Stiller) is now orchestrating the museum exhibits when they come to life to provide spectacular shows for visitors who think this is all a special effect. Even his boss (Ricky Gervais) isn't sure what's really going on. But when a glitch in the magical Ancient Egyptian powers causes chaos, Larry learns that he needs to travel to London so he can reunite Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek) with his father (Ben Kingsley), who's on display at the British Museum. Larry's teen son Nick (Skyler Gisondo) comes along, as do his revived pals Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), tiny soldiers Octavius and Jedediah (Steve Coogan and Owen Wilson) and others. But in London, while sneaking around local night guard Tilly (Rebel Wilson), Larry's team awakens a statue of the knight Lancelot (Dan Stevens), who dives into their quest with rather a bit too much gusto.

Until Lancelot turns up, everything about the film feels oddly tired, from the starry cameos to effects work that strains to be clever. Then Stevens injects a badly needed jolt of blue-eyed charisma and warped comical timing that makes the rest of the movie rather good fun. Rebel Wilson's side-plot is also rather amusing, with some wonderfully ridiculous touches. And even the cameos get better, notably a scene on a West End stage that's genuinely inspired silliness. Coogan and Wilson offer some raucous banter to accompany everything that happens, and Stiller kind of hangs on for dear life. But the filmmakers don't really care about these characters; they're just trying to create something visually impressive that's also goofy fun.

Owen Wilson Reveals 'Inherent Vice' Is Laced With Paranoia

Owen Wilson Joaquin Phoenix Martin Short Paul Thomas Anderson

'Inherent Vice' may be an absurd comedy with a rather complicated premise, but it could prove to have one of Owen Wilson's more serious roles, as he takes on a Coy Harlingen; a government informer with some big trust issues.

Joaquin Phoenix is Doc Sportello in the Paul Thomas Anderson's adaptation of the Thomas Pynchon novel; a private investigator forced to get involved in a case he'd rather walk away from when his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend and his wife and her lover get embroiled in a kidnapping scheme. Sound complicated? That's why he needs Coy. 'I'm the guy who's helping Doc to understand what's going on', Wilson explains. 'Except I'm not able to ever really shed too much light on it so all our scenes have this mysterious quality to it, fringed with paranoia'.
