The Disaster Artist Review

Excellent

A hilariously outrageous story based on real events, this film recounts the making of the 2003 movie The Room, which is widely considered to be one of the worst films ever made, even as it has developed a cult following. Based on the book by The Room's star Greg Sestero, it takes a remarkably personal look at the antics of aspiring actor-filmmaker Tommy Wiseau, who is played by James Franco with gonzo charm.

In late-1990s San Francisco, Tommy meets Greg (played by Dave Franco) in an acting class. As they struggle to find work, they make a pact to support each other. After moving to Los Angeles, Tommy decides to fund his own movie from his mysterious fortune, with himself in the lead role opposite Greg. They hire a cast (including Ari Graynor, Josh Hutcherson, Zac Efron and Jacki Weaver) and crew (including Seth Rogen and Paul Scheer) and set out to film Tommy's screenplay for The Room. But everyone has second thoughts, since Tommy has no discernible skill at acting, writing or directing.

The Room is indeed a terrible film, but it's remarkable simply for the fact that Wiseau managed to make it. And by accepting that the public saw his melodramatic romance as an awkward comedy, he has actually made money from it. The irony about this story is of course that the profoundly untalented Wiseau had enough cash to finance the project himself. Franco plays him with affection: he's a jerk to everyone, and refuses to admit his age, nationality or where he got his millions, but he's tenacious and loyal. It's a terrific performance that never winks at the camera. And the Franco brothers bring superb camaraderie to the screen in what becomes a surprisingly involving bromance.

Will Ferrell Talks About Step-Parents, Mark Wahlberg And Basketball In 'Daddy's Home' Interview

Will Ferrell Mark Wahlberg Paul Scheer

Comedy legend Will Ferrell spoke exclusively to Contactmusic about his new movie Daddy’s Home, in which he stars alongside Mark Wahlberg. Out on December 25th in the US and the following day in the UK, it concerns a father and a stepdad who compete for the affections of their child.

“There’s so many blended families now, whether it’s a stepmom or stepdad,” Ferrell said of the movies premise. “The dynamic of that, and how it can be tricky at times, and then at other times it can turn out to be a good thing, it’s fun to examine that as a comedy.”

Hell Baby is about to implant itself within US cinemas with a comedy horror experience that follows the story of Vanessa , played by Leslie Bibb (Confessions of a Shopaholic, Iron Man 2) and her husband Jack, played by Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine, Blades of Glory) as they move into a dilapidated New Orleans house with dreams of fixing it up, but the expectant couple miss the warning signs of 'Maison de Sang' (House of Blood), and know little of the house's dark history. Soon Vanessa begins acting in a disturbing, almost possessed way, requiring the intervention of two Vatican exorcists to find out what's really growing inside the housewife's body.

Something Strange Is About To Emerge From Leslie Bibb...

Hell Baby writer-directors Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant are known for their work on Reno 911! and Night at the Museum and Hell Baby will be the pair's directorial debut together. The trailer promises a lewd, crude affair, with plenty of lampooning of classic paranormal horror clichés, such as scenes from the notorious The Exorcist. The film is low-budget and low-brow, with the trailer only giving a flavour of the boobs, f-bombs and over-the-top gore that is to come.

Vanessa and Jack are a loved up couple expecting their first child, with dreams of fixing up a dilapidated old house in New Orleans neighbourhood. Little do they know of the house's history and just why it hasn't been inhabited for so many years, but they are about to find it. A visit from their rather unconstructive new neighbour F'Resnel tells them that the building is nicknamed Maison de Sang - in English, House of Blood. Strange things begin to happen to the couple, with Vanessa displaying some extremely odd and disturbing behaviour leaving Jack with no choice but to call upon her psychiatrist and her sister Marjorie to help him find out what appears to be possessing her. Meanwhile, two exorcists from the Vatican are called to the house to do their own research into the demonic presence.

Escape From Planet Earth Trailer

Scorch Supernova is a highly respected astronaut who also happens to be a brawny blue alien from the planet Baab. While spending his working hours rescuing distressed civilians from various planets, Scorch's intelligent but significantly scrawnier brother Gary guides him from mission control at the national space agency BASA. However, Scorch's strength and bravery is tested when the BASA chief Lena informs him of an SOS call from one extremely dangerous planet. In spite of Gary's strong warnings, Scorch sets out to rescue his fellow alien from whatever danger might be lurking but finds himself trapped and imprisoned by the planet's inhabitants; one of which is the alien-hating Shanker who vows to rid the universe of all alien lifeforms. Gary finds himself landed with a new responsibility; he must now become the rescuer and aid his brother in his escape from the dark planet and with it, secure the future of his own.

This sci-fi animated flick is a thrilling, adorable and immensely funny journey through space directed by Cal Brunker ('Ninjamaica') in his first cinematic movie. Among the writing credits were Brunker himself, Tony Leech and Cory Edwards ('Hoodwinked!') and Bob Barlen in his debut feature film. 'Escape From Planet Earth' is due for release this Valentine's Day; February 14th 2013; in the US.
