Paris menswear season closed with shows by Lanvin and Paul Smith yesterday (01.07.12).

Lanvin's monochrome-heavy show featured models with either blunt fringes or shaved heads teamed with skinny high-waisted trousers, ties and sockless feet in a show heavy on practical formal wear.

Patterns did break up the mix, with a number of pyjama-style outfits worn with sandals and short shorts teamed with short-sleeved jackets.

Paul Smith continued his classic take on smart casual, with reds and blacks dominating the catwalk, with some of the models carrying man bags to complete the look.

Form-fitting jackets also made a number of appearances, as did pale shades of terracotta, mustard and navy.

Many of the models wore sunglasses down the catwalk.

Other shows taking place over the weekend included Dior Homme, with a heavy focus on sleek tailoring in dark colours and Givenchy, which featured a number of t-shirts with religious iconography printed on top.

On Friday (29.07.12), Christopher Kane showed off a collection featuring sweatshirts, rose-printed trousers and clip belts.
