Peaches Geldof's body has been released to her family to make way for funeral arrangements. However, a post-mortem investigation yesterday proved inconclusive, casting no light on how the 25 year-old mother-of-two died. She was reportedly found dead at her home in Wrotham, Kent on Monday (7th April) but police have stated that there was no suicide note or evidence of drug-taking at the scene.

Geldof's body has been released to the family to allow preparations for a funeral, said a coroner's spokesman. "We can confirm that the body has been released to the family for funeral arrangements to be made," he said, via The Telegraph. Toxicology tests are still being carried out but apparently it could be weeks until Peaches' cause of death is determined.

Geldof is survived by her husband, her two sons, Phaedra, 11 months, and Astala, 23 months, father Bob Geldof, sisters Fifi Trixibelle and Pixie, and younger half-sister, Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof.

The daughter of Boomtown Rats rocker Bob Geldof and his late wife Paula Yates, Peaches had had to deal with losing her own mother to a drugs overdose at just 11 years-old. The former television presenter spent her teen years in the media spotlight, with particular focus upon her fluctuating weight.

She claimed that her drastic weight loss in recent years was the result of cutting out unhealthy food. "If you stop eating pizza and chips you then don't look like you used to. Do I really look thin? Let's be honest. How did I do it? I just stopped eating McDonald's and f****** s*** every day," she told The Sun in 2011. "I used to eat s*** every single day. I used to wake up with my boyfriend and eat crap. I had the heart of a 90-year-old gangster."

Gerry Agar, who is described as a close friend by the Daily Mail, said he was concerned by Peaches' weightloss: "I was worried about her weight loss. You could see that she was struggling with self-esteem issues - just as Paula did."

He alleged that she may have been suffering from an eating disorder, saying "Peaches lost such a lot of weight and then talked in interviews about going on juice-only diets." In her interview, Peaches hit back at the swirling rumours, arguing "People are like, 'Peaches is scary and anorexic'. Not really. It's ridiculous."

Any inquest is not expected to be opened and adjourned by the coroner until after the results of the toxicology tests are known.
