It was talk show veteran David Letterman who inducted the group on Friday night (April 7th 2017), with Neil Young being forced to back out due to an unspecified illness. The band had performed at the Ed Sullivan Theatre seven times while Letterman hosted 'The Late Show', so it's safe to say they know each other well.

Made In America Trailer

Made in America Festival is an annual music event founded by rapper and businessman Jay-Z in 2012. Following its inaugural year, it was announced to take place in Los Angeles for the later events and its arrival has since become an important symbol of unity. Jay-Z created the festival in a bid to join together musicians of all genres, creeds and cultures to emphasise the bond between music-lovers regardless of any animosity that may have existed between hip hop artists, rock artists and pop artists in the past. It is an attempt to build a world of peace and diversity because, in the words of Run DMC star Darryl McDaniels, 'Music succeeds where politics and religion fail'.

'Made In America' is a music documentary based on the new festival of the same name founded by Jay-Z who is also the movie's executive producer. It has been directed by double Oscar winner Ron Howard ('The Da Vinci Code', 'Apollo 13', 'Rush', 'A Beautiful Mind') and features behind-the-scenes clips and interviews of various music superstars including Run DMC, Rita Ora, Kanye West, Janelle Monáe, Tyler The Creator, Skrillex, Santigold and The Hives. The film premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival and was nominated for 'Outstanding Television Documentary' at the Black Reel Awards.

This is according to the result compiled by Nielsen in the week ending Sunday, 27 October, published by Billboard. Perry's immediate success overshadows Miley Cyrus' success with Bangerz, which previous held the top selling female artist distinction. Whilst Bangers scored a cool 270,000 sales at the first attempt at the beginning of the month, Prism managed to sell 286,000 copies in the first week. With 339,000 copies sold in the first week, only Daft Punk's Random Access Memoires has sold more records in it's debut week in 2013, and we still have two months worth of competition to look forward to.

Pearl Jam's New Album 'Lightning Bolt' Hits: Verdict?

Pearl Jam Eddie Vedder

Rockers Pearl Jam have finally released their first album in four years, 22 years after their debut album Ten was released in 1991. Such a remarkable decade-spanning career in alternative rock is admirable, not to mention not losing any members, not selling out, and no major inter-band fight implosions.

The first single from Lightning Bolt, 'Mind Your Manners,' was released in July and brought three-minute, full-thrash and sing-along punk under a fast and shouty tirade from lead singer Eddie Vedder about religion. The song provides contrast against the more 80s power ballad stylings of 'Siren' and the REM 90s rock nods of 'Swallowed Whole.'

Pearl Jam Announce 24-Date Tour Of North America

Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam left an enigmatic Tweet on their official Twitter page on July 1 saying only "the count is on," with no reference at all to what this countdown was in aid of. On Monday (July 8), exactly one week and two tweets later, we finally found out what this mysterious countdown was in reference to; the band's return to the road with a 24-date tour of North America (check out the full list at the bottom of the page).

Cubs Fans Pearl Jam Playing Wrigley Field, Chicago, On July 19, 2013

Pearl Jam Eddie Vedder

Pearl Jam will play a huge show at Wrigley Field, Chicago, on July 19, the legendary rock band confirmed on their Twitter page this morning. The group, fronted by Eddie Vedder - a lifelong Cubs fan - said, "IT'S OFFICIAL: Pearl Jam will be playing at Wrigley Field. Will you be there?"

Die-hard Pearl Jam fans appear to be in for a treat, with the band announcing there will no opening act. It seems the concert - titled An Evening With Pearl Jam - will be a career-spanning set of the band's greatest hits. In all honestly, the gig is just about the worst kept secret in Chicago, with neither Pearl Jam nor the Cubs being particularly subtle about the possibility of the iconic band playing Wrigley Field. On Tuesday afternoon (January 22, 2013), both tweeted pictures of the baseball field with a full concert set up. The Cubs later sent out a tweet that included 'Ten' - the name of Pearl Jam's classic debut album - and a "stay tuned" hashtag.

Tickets for the Wrigley Field show will go on sale on February 9, 2013, at 10.am, according to Live Nation. Fans should head to www.tickets.com or by calling 1-800-THE-CUBS. No tickets will be available at the baseball field's box office.

Pearl Jam, Twenty Album Review

The Mighty Pearl Jam have been celebrating their twentieth anniversary in a big way this year. Where some bands are content to do a celebratory jaunt of the touring circuit or simply put out a best of, Pearl Jam have not just stepped up to the plate as far as the festivities are concerned, they have in fact torn up and re-written the book on one-up-man-ship. So far this year, they have given us reissues of their first three albums accompanied by rare bootleg concerts, a live album (Live on Ten Legs), headlined their own destination-weekend-festival-thing which saw them playing sets above such rock heavy-weights as The Strokes, Queens of the Stone Age and their buddies from way back in Seattle; Mudhoney. As if that wasn't enough, they've topped it off with a two hour long Cameron Crowe directed documentary (available on DVD and Blu-ray from their website at the end of October in a 3 disc special edition with 4 hours of exclusive extras; yes, FOUR HOURS), an accompanying book, and this, the soundtrack to the film, also compiled by Cameron Crowe. And like the mugs they all are, the fans of Pearl Jam have lapped all this up somehow or another, probably by neglecting their wives and girlfriends, selling their children and re-mortgaging their homes.
