The Game of Thrones star's voice work was widely panned when the game was released in September (14) with many users complaining he sounded bored or detached as the Ghost, a robot companion for the main character.

Bosses at video game developers Bungie have now announced Dinklage will be replaced by voice actor Nolan North for all future releases and Dinklage's previous work will be wiped from the earlier game and re-recorded by North.

Creative director Luke Smith insists the move was to keep the story consistent, telling Gameinformer.com, "We wanted Nolan North's version of the Ghost to wake you up at the start of the journey at level one and follow you all the way to level forty."

Dinklage's voice will be replaced in an upcoming game update.
