Czech model Petra Nemcova attends an interview at the Bloomingdale's Aventura launch event for the Happy Hearts Fund newly in partnership with cosmetic brand Clinique. She discusses her feelings on natural disasters such as the 2004 Tsunami, education in disaster zones and becoming a vegan.

'Life is very, very precious', says Petra, reminiscing about how she nearly lost her life during the tsunami in Thailand eight years ago which killed her then fiance Simon Atlee. She says that we must appreciate every moment we have with our loved ones because preventing natural disasters is impossible. 'There are things we can do. disaster preparedness; mitigation and readiness can save lives.' She says that she and the Happy Hearts Fund are 'extremely happy' about the new partnership. 'They are passionate about education as much as we are', she says. 'Partnering together we can rebuild many more schools and restore many more lives of children.' She is also asked about her being a vegan which she explains was due to her concern over the overfishing of seas but admits she is not strictly vegan anymore due to health issues.
