The drum technician died in a freak accident at a venue in Toronto in 2012 just hours before the British group was due to take to the stage.

Selway is now set to remember his late friend three years after the tragedy by handing over a special drum kit to bosses at Manchester Central Library.

The presentation is due to take place on Sunday (06Sep15) during a live BBC radio broadcast celebrating the link between literature and music.

The drummer says, "He was very calm, he was very generous and he was very funny. When you're on tour, you spend so much time together and to be with somebody whose company you enjoy that much is worth its weight in gold. When they're not there anymore, you feel that very keenly."
