A Bulgarian man checks the alcoholic quality at a small home raki distilling installation in the village of Priselci east of the Bulgarian capital Sofia. Two months before Christmas holidays, mostly in the rural areas in the Balkan country, people who grow their own grapes or plums, produce big quantities of traditional home brewed raki, an alcoholic beverage. A total of 50 million litres of raki are produced illegally in Bulgaria and the country's legal production of raki amounts to 30-35 million litres a year on an annual basis, according to data of the National Vine and Wine Chamber - Priselci Bulgaria - Sunday 6th October 2013 (21 images)
