Bulgarian battle reenactment of Polish King Wladyslaw III - Saturday 14th November 2015

Actors from all around the world take part in a reenactment of the battle of Polish King Wladyslaw III Warnenczyk against Ottoman Turks 571 years ago near the town of Varna, Bulgaria. Wladislav III set out with a small army on a crusade against the Turks, but fell in a major battle in 1444. The battle saw a ragtag Christian army of mixed nationalities fighting against a force of Ottoman turks. About a hundred history enthusiasts and amateur actors gathered near town of Varna to commemorate the 571-th anniversary of the liberation struggle against the Ottoman Empire. - Varna Bulgaria - Saturday 14th November 2015 (48 images)
