Pierce Brosnan is set to star in 'Final Score'.

The 63-year-old actor - who is known for his role as the secret agent James Bond in the spy thriller - has announced he has been cast in the action film, which will be directed by Scott Mann, and is based on a script written by brothers Lynch and Jonathan Frank.

The production will see a football stadium seized by a group of armed criminals who are demanding a ransom.

However an ex-soldier comes to the rescue to save the 35,000 hostages, one of who is the daughter of a fellow comrade who died in battle.

Speaking about the movie producer Robert Jones said: '''Final Score' may be set in London but truly it's a story that's relatable the world over. Scott Mann's vision has scale, white knuckle tension, humour and heart.''

The dark haired hunk will begin filming for the upcoming production will begin in August 8 at Upton Park stadium in London alongside WWE wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista, Alexandra Dinu and Julian Cheung.

The father of five - who has sons Sean, 32, Dylan, 19, Chris, 43, and Paris, 15, and daughter Charlotte, 44, - will also be working with Marc Goldberg of Signature Entertainment who will helm the production alongside Mark Lane, James Harris and Wayne Marc Godfrey, whilst Elizabeth Williams will act as executive producer with Babak Eftekhari on the project.
