The November Man actor had no problems as a young boy in Ireland, but when he moved to England as an 11 year old in the mid-1960s people couldn't pronounce his name properly, so instead he was known as "Irish".

The former James Bond star says, "The English couldn't really get their lips around Pierce Brosnan... so they called me 'Irish'. It's a good name... I didn't hold it against them.

"Actually, I wanted to be called Frank. I always thought Frank was a really nice name. Frank is very simple, it's good."
