Spanish opera star Placido Domingo is set to perform his first ever concert in Cuba on Saturday (26Nov16).
The famed tenor arrived in Havana on Thursday night (24Nov16) in preparation for the special show, which will take place at the city's Alicia Alonso Gran Teatro.
Placido will perform alongside Cuban musicians Gonzalo Roig and Ernesto Lecuona at the gig, during which he will revisit his most famous tunes.
The event will also feature appearances from Puerto Rican soprano Ana Maria Martinez and the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba, reports Reuters.
Hundreds of fans are expected to flock to the concert, which will also be broadcast on big screens outside the theatre, where culture officials plan to provide 2,000 chairs for crowds.
News of Domingo's show emerges eight months after the Rolling Stones became the first Western act to perform in the country since the Communist Revolution in 1959. The historic free gig was filmed by director Paul Dugdale and his concert movie, Havana Moon, hit theatres around the world on 23 September (16).
