Animic Announces New Album 'Hannibal' And Single 'Skeletons 2' Plus May 2014 Uk Shows

Alt-indie outfit, Animic, release their 5th studio album, 'Hannibal' via BCore Disc this summer and will preview new material with two exclusive UK shows at The Old Blue Last in London on 2 May and Liverpool Sound City on 3 May. Their new single, 'Skeletons 2' is already a firm favourite in their home country of Spain with El Pais calling the group, "One of the best acts. More than a band, they are a state of mind".

The band's last album, 'Hannah' broke them into mainstream conciousness, garnering various awards and accolades including kudos from Spain's leading music publication, Rockdelux describing the release as "sharp, warlike songs that are elegantly desolating". Animic went on to play the Pitchfork stage at Primavera Sound 2012 and were chosen personally by Portishead to open their only show in Spain. They also shared the stage with These New Puritans last year before taking time off to work on their new album.

With 'Hannibal', that sound has been honed to a focus on melody and subtlety, avoiding the current fashion for bombast to create songs that burst forth with emotion and understated melancholia, underpinned with delicate rhythms that draw on band's love of film scores and post modernist literature and the leftfield production of the likes of Radiohead and The Antlers.

With a fine reputation for live shows on the continent and various festivals including SXSW, Sonar, Bilborock etc, these first UK shows of 2014 for Animic are a perfect way to welcome the new musical year.
