Cleo T. Returns To UK After The Great Escape 2014 To Perform From Her John Parish Prod. Album 'Songs Of Gold And Shadow'

Cleo T takes us on a mystical ride, a nocturne in blue and gold, reminding us of Alice sleeping in the Peacock Room, or Salome dancing in the last chance saloon. Her debut album 'Songs Of Gold & Shadow' was produced and recorded in Bristol by John Parish and is an invitation au voyage and a cabaret for modern times. From Paris, she performs music that sits somewhere between ethereal folk and dark cabaret.

Chiming and teasing in the manner of the glamorous divas of a bygone Parisian golden age, the ethereal video for 'We All' taken from 'Songs of Gold & Shadow' (rel. Feb 2014) illustrates a blend of symbolistic harmonies and the tones of ancient europe with dark romanticism and shimmering poetry. Lyrics written by Robert Wyatt especially for Cleo T feature in the album's epilogue entitled 'So Long Ago Yesterday'. We're taken on a walk with love and death throughout.

On the road since 2010, Cleo T has been singing across Europe with piano, harp and cello, from Berlin to London and to the Southern tip of Italy. Winner of the Paris young talent contest in 2012, she recently performed at The Great Escape in celebration of her debut album and returns to the UK this week t oagain share her chiaroscuro theatre here.

'It came as no surprise to discover that Cleo T is French... A large range of instrumentation, including Theremin and crystal glasses combine with delightfully melancholic melodies to give the album a film noire feel, with Cleo T playing the role of the femme fatale. An album that drifts into your consciousness like a skiff emerging from the mist, cloaked figure in the prow.'  FATEA
