Decades Announce Self-titled Debut Lp Out April 30th 2013

Toronto quartet, DECADES, will release their self-titled debut album on April 30 in North America via White Girl Records and have premiered a video for the opening track, 'Tonight Again'. Over the past two years the quartet have built up a buzz in their hometown and across Canada with their powerful live performances, supporting such acts as Handsome Furs, The Weekend, Deerhoof, Tribes and Palma Violets. Rich in textures, drenched in reverb, 'DECADES' was recorded in Toronto with producer/engineer Alex Bonenfant (METZ/Diamond Rings/Crystal Castles) and mixed by Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire/The Horrors/REM) and Clint Gibbs (Rihanna/Jesse J/Flo Rida). The album harkens back to late '80s shoegaze and early '90s Brit Pop and yet is thoroughly modern.

Formed in late 2010, drummer Peter Gosling, bassist Greg Peters, vocalist Mike Kaminski and guitarist Justin Lemaire have steadily evolved their sound from a pure band of punk-laced garage rock to something far more expansive and engulfing. Bass and guitar melodies molded from overdriven tubes interplay beautifully atop a driving pulse to frame Kaminski's frail, seductive, and at times ferocious vocals, creating a sound that is alluring and inventive.
