Dexters Announced To Support Kaiser Chiefs At The British Grand Prix At Silverstone On July 3rd 2014

Dexters HAVE announce that they will be the lead support for the Kaiser Chiefs at this year's British Grand Prix, the 50th to be held at the famous Silverstone track. The 12,000 capacity venue, will mark the bands biggest live show to date on July 3rd.

This is the first time in British Grand Prix history that the event will host a live performance from the three-time Brit Award winning Kaiser Chiefs, and Dexters are thrilled to feature alongside the band to kick off the weekend of celebrations for the 50th anniversary.

Frontman Tom Rowlett of the Dexters says:
"Buzzing for this! This will be our biggest show yet and we're gonna put on a rock'n'roll show that'd make James Hunt proud! We're all big F1 fans. Our favourite driver was Senna, obviously, and favourite current driver is Jenson Button. He looks like he enjoys a drink and he's into his rock'n'roll so hopefully we get to have a pint with him!"

Dexters have this week released their debut album 'Shimmer Gold' and are currently on their biggest UK tour to date, full tour dates below including their London show at The Garage on April 5th

On the album, 'Shimmer Gold', Tom says:
"We're ready to make the next step up with this album - it's 11 big tracks, not one radio made single and see you later, that's your lot. Trust me, it's one of the best debut albums in years and we can't wait for people to hear it. Lyrically we look to Ray Davies and The Kinks. Our songs are stories and tales. That's so important to us," remarks Tom. Telling each other stories is something that the band thrive on and this is clearly reflected in their work. "My Dad used to play the harmonica in blues bands around the East End, just in spit and sawdust pubs. I used to follow him about and sit on the side of the stage, watching him with a bottle of coke in my hand and a packet of crisps. I loved it."

Drawing inspiration from the likes of The Las, The Libertines, Black Lips and The Strokes, Dexters bring a refreshing modern swagger and youthful enthusiasm to guitar music's current grey landscape. Dexters is formed of frontman Tom Rowlett, guitarists Chris Heggie and Ben Debo, bassist Jamie Harris and drummer Chris Mardon. The quintet have already caused a big stir with their recently released single 'The Hard Way' and previous single 'Start To Run' garnishing tastemaker support from the likes of NME, Q, XFM, Absolute Radio and The Sun.
