Gunning For Tamar Announce Spring 2013 UK Headline Dates

On April 1st, the Oxford 4 piece Gunning For Tamar will release their inspired, brand new EP, 'Camera Lucida' through Alcopop (Johnny Foreigner, Freeze The Atlantic)

Recorded with Tom Stanley (The Cure, The Maccabees) and mixed by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro), the EP title comes from a book of the same name, which is about people's relationship with photography and photos. As Joe (Wallis, lead guitar and vocals) explains; "It's a fascinating and scary subject and there are many experiments surrounding memory manipulation of subjects by showing them photos of things they never did. It ties into other themes that are present in the songs on the EP, like the idea that the mind is easily manipulated by difficult situations, people and is incredibly fragile. This can sometimes lead to uncomfortably dark, very often surreal mindsets."

GUNNING FOR TAMAR's last couple of singles, both released in 2012 (the brilliantly titled 'Time Trophies' and 'Dark Sky Tourism') received support from the likes of Huw Stevens on Radio 1, John Kennedy and Ian Camfield at XFM and BBC6 Music. 'Time Trophies' was also released on a ground breaking new format..an orange watch..an actual watch. They were also a Rock Sound Magazine One To Watch. All of which of course, is brilliant stuff.

Live wise, they play a lot of shows and sleep not a lot of the time, which gives them tired eyes but also extra time to release records and write hits. In the last year

GUNNING FOR TAMAR toured  and played shows with the likes of Japandroids, Brontide, Johnny Foreigner, Tellison and toured Europe twice. They have also played a host of festivals in the last 2 years, and have now announced a huge UK headline tour, of which all the dates are below. They will ALSO be heading off for a euro tour too, from April, with the dates starting on April 13th through to 11th May, and the record will get a release in France, Belgium and Switzerland through Hip Hip Hip (Blakfish/ Minnaars).
