Jessy Lanza Announces Spring 2014 North American Tour With Cut Copy

Having recently wrapped up her first US tour this January with sold out headlining sets, Jessy Lanza is back on the road this Spring supporting Cut Copy across North America, including two sold out sets at New York's Terminal 5. The Hamilton-based artist will also play Austin's SXSW this March, with a stacked Resident Advisor showcase and more sets to be announced.
 
Lanza's debut record, Pull My Hair Back, was released in September 2013 on Hyperdub, proving itself a refreshing album that layers electronic, pop and R&B sounds with a compelling accessibility. Co-written and co-produced with Jeremy Greenspan of Junior Boys, the album is a flagship for what electronic pop can sound like, at once icy and sensual, graceful and erotic, sweet and soulful. With a background as a singer and skilled piano scholar, Jessy's voice flutters atop the synths seductively, accentuating her mutual love with Greenspan over R&B, house, disco, 80s studio rock, old hardware synths and drum machines. Pull My Hair Back has immaculate production throughout reminiscent of early Junior Boys, with a sound that treads a fine line between cold futurism and the R&B the duo is so infatuated with.
