Royce Wood Junior Announces Debut Ep 'Tonight Matthew' Stream 'Hardly' [Listen]

After his tantalising debut 'Nuff' which has seen plays from Radio 1's finest including Zane Lowe, Annie Mac and MistaJam alongside a raft of blog love, rising London-based songwriter/producer Royce Wood Junior premieres 'Hardly'. The track is taken from his forthcoming 4-track debut EP Tonight Matthew, set for release on April 21st 2014 via burgeoning new label Parlez Parlez who launched late last year with a must-hear collaboration from Kwes, Kilo Kish & George Maple titled 'Gripp'.

'Hardly' is 3 minutes of slinking soul perfection that comes across like a 2014 refix of golden era Prince, woozy melodies and Dilla esque beats melding with multi-layered vocals and Steve Wonder chords to dreamy effect. It's another impressive offering from one of the year's most intriguing new talents that leaves us once again reaching for the rewind.

Listening to his effortless production and skilful lyricism it's no surprise that Royce has previously worked with some of UK electronic music's most exciting artists, having played in good friend and Disclosure collaborator Jamie Woon's band, produced the upcoming Jono McCleery album for Ninja Tune and contributed tracks to Kwabs' forthcoming album.

The Tonight Matthew EP - its tongue in cheek title and artwork a nod to classic TV imagery - sees Royce Wood Junior step out on his own with 4 tracks bound to thrust this mysterious newcomer into the spotlight. Stay tuned.

The EP tracklisting is as follows:
1. Beeline
2. Hardly
3. Nuff
4. Further More
