Terraplane Sun are excited to announce that their new album Generation Blues is completed for release in July of this year on Trauma 2 Records. The album is the follow-up to the SoCal-based quintet's 2013 EP entitled Ya Never Know.
Recorded at Kingsize Sound Labs in Eagle Rock, CA, the album features new recordings with production duties split between the band (5 songs) and Dave Trumfio (Wilco, My Morning Jacket, The Mekons) (6 songs). All songs except Funnel of Love were written by Terraplane Sun.
With recording for the new release now complete, the band will tour leading up to the release of the album. Currently they are on the 3 of Clubs Tour through May (dates below), with further our plans to be announced thereafter.
The band has made a name for themselves as a strong touring band, having opened for the likes of Phoenix, Alt-J, Imagine Dragons, and Alabama Shakes.
Hailing from Venice Beach, California, Terraplane Sun is comprised of frontman Ben Rothbard, guitarist Johnny Zambetti, bassist Cecil Campanaro, Keyboardist Gabe Feenberg and drummer Lyle Riddle. Their soulful blues influences are blended into a rootsy rock cocktail that defies any specific era. Their recently released EP entitled Ya Never Know features the single & video entitled "Get Me Golden" which received a warm reception at radio last fall.
