Portland based progenitors of aural horror The Body have signed with Thrill Jockey and will be releasing a full-length with the label later this year. The duo of drummer Lee Buford and guitarist/vocalist Chip King use doom metal as a framework to explore the farthest reaches of music, employing full choirs, multiple drummers, hissing layers of feedback and inhuman howls to create haunting works that defy traditional classification systems. The band will be recording at Machines with Magnets (Black Pus, Battles) in May.
The Body will be touring this summer in the US, first to Providence before recording the album, with West Coast dates with Subservient Fuck (featuring members of Thou) in June.
At A Loss Recordings will release the Master, We Perish EP on 30th April, and the EP is available for pre-order now. You can now check out a disturbing video for the track "The Ebb and Flow of Tides in a Sea of Ash".
