'MTV Crashes Derry' has announced the first two acts to play at the one day festival next month, and they’re both British acts. Rapper Professor Green and multi-talented producer / vocalist MNEK will perform in front of a sell-out crowd.

Derry’s Ebrington Square will play host to a 10,000 strong crowd on September 19th. All the tickets for the event sold out in an amazing 40 seconds when they were released earlier in August.

Professor Green, whose real name is Stephen Paul Manderson, will release his third album Growing Up In Public two days later. He said "I am just excited to get out on that stage, I love performing, that’s what it’s all about for me, so I’m looking forward to sharing my tracks with this Derry audience and seeing their reaction at 'MTV Crashes'!"

Earlier in 2014, the Prof announced that he needed a period of rest having been continuously touring and recording for eighteen months. He cancelled his UK tour scheduled for May and postponed all of the dates for November and December this year.

Professor Green is joined on the bill by MNEK, who has enjoyed a rise to fame to which the word ‘meteoric’ doesn’t really do justice. As a singer and songwriter, he had a hand in the UK Top 5 success ‘Ready For Your Love’ with Gorgon City, and as a writer has a Grammy nomination to his name with the UK Number 1 single ‘Need U (100%)’ with Duke Dumont.

In his own right, he’s set to release his debut single ‘Wrote A Song About You’ on September 1st, and chances are it’ll be another tremendous success. MNEK said “I am looking forward to getting out there and performing alongside Professor Green at 'MTV Crashes Derry', I think it’s going to be a good one and hopefully we will well and truly crash it!”

‘MTV Crashes Derry’ will be broadcast in the UK on MTV Music and MTV Live HD on Friday September 19th.
