Rapper Professor Green has hinted that his recent break-up with ex Millie Mackintosh will serve as inspiration for his new album. The rapper married the ‘Made In Chelsea’ star in 2013, after a whirlwind romance, but earlier this year they announced their separation.

Speaking to The Sun, Green was asked if ex-wife Millie would be unhappy with his new lyrics. “I think that can be assumed,” he said. “But I’m not worried about that. People assume they know me and they know the box I fit into but I grew up rapping a totally different way.”

“I hope people will let me release the music and the style that I want,” he added. “I’m not going to be nice just to sell records.” When Millie and Green announced their split in February it appeared they had parted on good terms.

In a joint statement the couple had said: "It is with sadness and regret that we confirm our separation. It is a mutual decision, we still care deeply about each other and would like it to be known it is on amicable terms and we wish each other well.”

But recently Green has been accused of taking digs at his ex on social media, particularly after it was claimed she’s now dating fellow ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Hugo Taylor. After tabloids published pics of Millie and Hugo together Green cryptically tweeted: ‘Money really can’t buy you class can it.’

At the same time he also told his twitter followers, ‘Dodging bullets since 1983,’ which many believed was a reference to his relationship with Millie. Then when his ex was pictured making funny faces when out with Hugo, Green coincidentally tweeted, ‘London's Gurning’.
